Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachael Lincoln.
Rachel, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a freelance makeup artist out of Easton, Ma. I loved beauty from a young age, and as I got older, I was drawn to make up. When I was 18, I would do makeup whoever would let me. A few years later and after my daughter was born, I had the opportunity to work for Bare Minerals. Though I loved my time there and learned so much, retail hours were too chaotic for myself and my family.
I occasionally freelanced and collaborated with friends and practiced as much as I could, usually during naps. After my son was born, I began to freelance more, and really tried to network more. Over the last few years, I have been so fortunate to be able to work with some truly amazing artists (makeup/hair/stylists/photographers) as well as phenomenal models.
I am now able to have a space in Easton, Ma being inspired every day by an amazing photographer, Gail Nataupsky of Nataupsky Photography Studio, I have had the privilege of having my work in publications such as Style Up Magazine, Style Equestrian, iMirage Magazine, as well as being able to love my job every day. From lessons to girls nights, weddings and editorial I love the power make up has to change someone, sometimes inwardly as well as outwardly.
Makeup can transform someone’s confidence, it can make a bride’s dream come to life, it can tell a story, it can highlight our favorite parts about ourselves, or it can be chaotic and bright, Make up is my passion and helping people see their beauty the way the world around them sees them is the most rewarding thing I could ever imagine being able to do every day.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been hard figuring it all out, especially on the business end. I married and had children young, so there wasn’t always much extra money to spare towards trying to have a sustainable business.

Rachael Lincoln Make Up Artistry is a makeup artistry company specializing in teen application, beauty, special occasion, wedding, and editorial. As a company we are so proud of our last year, in particular, there has been a lot of growth, a handful of publications, as well as the pleasure of working at Princess House.
What sets Rachael Lincoln Make Up Artistry apart from others is we want you to feel as beautiful as the world sees you. There is no caking on makeup until you look like someone else. We help accentuate your best features and help make you the best version of yourself.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me has many meanings no one more important than the other. There is, of course, financial success but that also is a matter of opinion. I’m not looking to be rich, just add to my household, I want to make sure there are savings and an extra Christmas present under the tree and to be able to take my kids on vacations while still having college funds. Success is also measured in what you give back.
When I go to work, I get to help young girls find their confidence, and I get to remind older women of the beauty they still possess but have forgotten about. But ultimately I get to go to work every day with a passion and love for what I do, and to me that is success.
