Meet Josh and Kyle Edgerly of Creative Edge Arts

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh and Kyle Edgerly.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Josh and Kyle. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Kyle started as an independent filmmaker with an interest in photography about thirteen years ago. Josh has a degree in graphic design and has been teaching in the subject for the past five years. He has also had an interest/hobby in photography for the past eight years. We are cousins and have been relatively close for the past decade or so.

About five years ago, we decided to start the business with a primary focus in wedding videography and photography but continued to pursue our other interests, which included graphic design, which ultimately led us to RT Donlon and working on his book cover designs for the past three years.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I wouldn’t say there were any obstacles other than trying to balance starting a new business debt-free along with juggling other full and part-time jobs along the way all while trying to make the business grow year to year.

Creative Edge Arts – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Creative Edge Arts specializes in multimedia services; specifically wedding videography and photography. Our passions and hobbies have led us to other opportunities as well such as book cover designs for RT Donlon as well as other videography/photography/graphic design jobs for the Maine/NH/VT branch of Aflac.

As for wedding photography and videography, we’re about to start our fifth season and have filmed/photographed over 40 weddings to this point with the majority coming in the past two years, and 20 of those coming just this past year. One aspect of what we do for our wedding videos that sets us apart from others is our attention to detail – we treat each wedding like a movie. Our highlight videos are quite the production and are our proudest product we offer as a company.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is the feeling of accomplishment after exceeding the client’s expectations when working on one of their projects. We have so many different types of products that we offer our clients, that we have many different forms of success. Whether it’s seeing RT Donlon’s book cover in print form, and the reaction from him and his fans, or if it’s one of our ecstatic wedding couples raving about the memories that we were able to capture for them.
